Fans of IKEA Reviews
Who doesnt love IKEA? In fact, at first look it seems like the greatest store in the world. You can go in there as a young family with very little money and come out of there with an entire house full of furniture for cheap.
Whether you are going there for mattresses, bookshelves, cabinets or meatballs it can be a god send for the artist, student or starter family. While it takes a little heat over the unmitigated use of flakeboard, the stuff they sell can get the job done for the short term.
In fact, IKEA fans are all over the world. It’s mere mention brings people to make comments far and wide. It seems that the Marmoleum Clique and the IKEA fans share something… passion for the products. People that love marmoleum, really love marmoleum. They think that it is the greatest thing since cheese and they have been even seen eating it.
Here are some of the conversations & reviews of Marmoleum we have been a part of:
TOTAL SATISFACTION WITH OUR TRANSACTION
We wanted to install a new kitchen floor with something that is not plastic or petrochemical and ceramic kept coming up as a pretty good option since there were cheap options available at the home center and finding someone to install it was easy. We were thinking about what we really wanted long term from our kitchen floor and indestructible and cold wasnt at the top of the list. Bye Bye to tile. After lots of searching from store to store looking for actual linoleum (not vinyl) we ended up at the computer and found the coolgreenfloors.com site and it was a true education. Reading through the site told us everything we could possibly want to know about organic, natural and sustainable flooring. They also sent us free samples and were totally helpful on the phone. We settled on two different products, their easy loc closeout for a spare room and the Marmoleum Click II in a checkerboard pattern for the kitchen.
Our experience was great. Google checkout is so easy to use and we never have to give the seller our credit card number! The shipping was right on target in the seven to ten day window that they told us and the pallet of flooring broke down easy and we unloaded in about ten minutes. We saved a fortune.

PS: The install was DIY and all we really needed was a jigsaw. Undercutting the door trim and jambs like they suggested made the job so much easier. We added back the shoe molding and we were done in one day. Following instructions makes it that much easier.
WHO PUTS UP THESE REVIEWS?
I have lived with Marmoleum almost my whole life and when I read through the reviews I wonder if we are talking about the same product. The only thing you really can’t do is clean the floor with the wrong (harsh) cleaners. Keeping the floor swept and spot cleaning as necessary is all that it takes. You can even put a little lustre back on with the Marmoleum cleaning and finish products and it lasts for years.
As far as getting it installed, the conclusion here is that if you want the sheet product and you want it to be trouble free, just hire someone who has experience with linoleum and ideally someone who was trained by Forbo. I would love to try the click instalation by myself.
Happy in Linoleumville (there is such a place!)
SAFE, EASY and REASONABLE.
Hospitals and schools use linoleum today for good reason. It is safe, doesnt promote bacteria growth and it really holds up. I found the MCT to be a great deal from you guys and the install was easy over the new plywood floor as you suggested. The suggestion to NOT use the cheap lauan ten dollar plywood saved me a lot of hassle.
Thanks

AWESOME VINTAGE LOOK WITH MARMOLEUM.
After installing the Marmoleum Click Flooring in my kitchen I have to say it was not difficult. In my case, the subfloor prep what with removing the old floors (asbestos) and instlalling new plywood would have been such a hassle. It is also not our forever home so I liked the idea of being able to repair a piece or even taking it to my next home if I chose. The thickness of the wear layer makes linoleum a good bet if you get a lot of traffic. It takes a little bit of periodic maintenance but for us, it is worth it.

PROFESSIONAL INSTALLERS?
BE CAREFUL about who you have to do your installation. If you are going with Glue down tiles or sheet material, you need to know that this Marmoleum product is different than installing vinyl flooring and the fellows who say they are professional installers but who have never read a word or attended classes about linoleum installation are not the guys to do your project. I made this mistake once before and I asked cool green floors to recommend someone and they found me a trained installer to do my latest project.

DIY SHEET GOODS INSTALLATION
I was going to attempt to install my marmoleum sheet material myself so I did a lot of reading on the subject. For me I came away with a few takeaways: Backrolling the material to take the curl out of it was critical. There are also some spots in the roll called a stovebar and they needed some special attention, back rolling and buttering both the subfloor and the material with a thin coat just in that area. Scribing the sheets together was tricky and luckily I had a friend who showed me how to cut one sheet to the other with the scribe tool and how to roll it in immediately for a perfect seam. I am a very patient cutter and fitter and I would really love to try to install one of the marmoleum borders if I do it again.
Ten Thumbs DIY
