Hypo-Allergenic Flooring
Why are people getting allergies? Its been said that people can only store so much of a toxin or chemical trigger before their bodies run out of defenses. Once the body can no longer neutralize environmental agents, the body responds and says, “I have had enough.” Take for example, beekeepers who are not allergic to bee stings but over a series of years and routine exposure develop an allergic reaction to bee venom. While initially considered therapeutic to some people, the venom, when the body no longer has a defense becomes toxic.
Much is the same of folks who are allergic. Some are born without defenses to certain chemical compounds, while others are not exposed gradually and never develop resistance. Still others are overexposed to some compounds and their bodies react violently. These generic statements about exposure, antibodies and the vaccine effect we all experience in our bodies simply sets the stage for an understanding of allergies.
Removing house dust, particulates, hydrocarbons, dander, pollen and all manners of solids from the air helps an allergic person to cope. Having a hard surface or resilient floor makes a huge difference in the ability of these particles to hide from the dust mop or hepa vaccuum. By not contributing a static charge to the indoor air environment, linoleum will allow dust particles to fall to the floor easily and be able to be picked up with a HEPA vacuum. Carpets and rugs makes it difficult to capture these particulates. People are also finding that carpets that do not have twisted fibers at their base, like Forbo Flotex are making a huge difference for sensitive people.
